Pilot Sites

Pilot testing will be arranged at different stages of the project in order to prove concepts, applications, services, devices and technologies as well as to gather continuous feedback from users. The success of PERSONA platform according to the initial objectives will be assessed with real users in long term test beds, after an initial stage of technical validation.

Three test sites will be established in three different locations: Borgotaro (Italy), Odense (Denmark) and a city in the Region of Valencia (Spain). These three towns are very committed with technological and innovation activities. Borgotaro is a small area in Italy with very little population that is investing a lot of resources in technology to make the region more attractive for e-companies. Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and all its health system is electronic and fully standardised, whereas the city in the region of Valencia will be chosen between the 'Digital Cities' being plenty of e-initiatives.

PERSONA platform will be set-up in the daily living environment of elderly users for supporting their personal autonomy. This daily living environment will include home environment but also will create a PERSONA enabled neighbourhood with support applications and services under these 4 categories: Social Integration; Daily Life activities; Living Safe & Protected; and Supported Mobility. That means the Ambient Intelligence is not bounded by the home but the entire neighbourhood will be intelligent and digital, providing services to the user.
