TSB develops its research by means of its 4 primary lines of action (E-Health, E-Inclusion, Life Quality and Health Information) applying to each of these areas, distinctive technologies in which the group maintains the greatest experience (Information Systems Platforms, Wireless Communication, Knowledge Management and Ambient Intelligence Systems).

LifeSTech has two main lines of research: Neurophotonics and UPM) and dedicated to design, development and evaluation of services and applications based on ICT in Health Care and Social Services (e-Health and e-Inclusion).

Institute of Textile Technology (AITEX)

Profile

AITEX is a Spanish non-profit making private association formed by textile and related companies whose main objective is to improve competitiveness within the sector. For this reason, the Institute promotes modernisation and the introduction of new technologies through the implementation of RTD projects and, in general, the preparation of all kind of actions and services that contribute to the progress of the sector at industrial level. In the field of standardisation and quality, it has advanced testing laboratories: chemistry, physics, wastewater, microbiology, quality and environment, fire behaviour and ballistics, that are authorised to award several certifications. It participates in various EC initiatives and projects, supporting the Spanish companies in a growing number of diverse EU-funded projects.

Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)

The CSIC is the largest public research body in Spain. In this project there are two main entities involved collaborating as a Join Research Unit, the Microelectronics National Center ( CNM-CSIC), and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
The CNM is a non profit R&D institute belonging to the Spanish Science Research Council, CSIC and located at the Campus of the UAB.The basic objective of the CNM-CSIC activities is to strengthen micro and nano technologies capability by means of scientific and technological research as well as to provide technological support to industry. The CNM-CSIC in Barcelona gathers more than 120 persons. Between them "The Biomedical Applications Group" that directly participating in PERSONA has already cooperated in many national and international projects, in some cases leading European projects, delivering wide experience in the use of micro and nanotechnology focusing bio-medical applications.
The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is a public university located in Bellaterra, very close to Barcelona, with 77 Undergraduate courses and 87 doctoral programmes, covering a wide range of fields such as humanities and arts, and social, health, experimental and technological sciences. UAB gathers in its Campus more than 40.000 students and almost 3.000 researchers, and its campus hosts a number of research centres and institutes, which together with the departments, make up the research consortium known as the Esfera UAB.
