The International Office at the Danish Centre for Health Telematics is situated in Odense, Denmark, and can represent either MedCom or the Region of Southern Denmark. The office participates in several European projects and activities and focus for these include telemedicine, infrastructure for the use of telemedicine, and standardisation of electronic communication. The aim of MedCom is to contribute to the development, testing, dissemination and quality assurance of electronic communication and information in the healthcare sector by the use of the Danish Health Data Network. The Region of South Denmark is the biggest regional authority in Denmark with 1.2 millions inhabitants. The responsibility for running the health service is decentralized and lies mostly within the regional authorities.

Odense Municipal Government is the 4. largest municipal government in Denmark in terms of population size. The municipality holds some 190.000 citizens within it's borders. 27.000 of these are of the age of 65 or older. In the PERSONA project the municipal government is represented by Odense Municipal Eldercare, which is a public operating unit with more than 3.000 employees providing around the clock care to close to 10.000 citizens each year.
